As the name suggests, Cold Horizon is not trying to convey too many happy emotions through their music.

This (currently) four-piece rock/metal band originates from Tampere, Finland.

The band started out as a songwriting project for guitarist Matti Kotipuro and keyboard player Ossi Kaartinen.
They decided to gather up other like-minded musicians who they could play these new songs with. Soon they had already found two other members, drummer Joakim Lindqvist and bass player Timo Ravantti, through online ads. All they needed now was a great lead singer.

"When I heard Joonas sing for the first time, I instantly knew that his unique, raspy and piercing voice would fit our
music perfectly. In the demo he had sent us he sang his version of Lady Gaga's Poker Face and it was simultaneously
hilarious and deeply compelling", Matti recalls. Shortly after Joonas had joined them in 2017, Cold Horizon was formed.

Their music is based heavily on melodic distorted guitar riffs, ethereal synth lines and a strong, straightforward rhytmic foundation. "To my mind", says Joonas, "there's this 'liberating' aspect in our music. It's pretty hard to describe so you'll have to hear it for yourself."
